Terese “Mrs B” Bjornstad for Red Wing School Board
VOTING STARTS September 18th at Goodhue County Government Center until election day on Tuesday, November 3rd at your local polling place.
Why Mrs. B?
Public education and life-long learning are my passion. I love serving students and their families.
I became a teacher because it was my calling: I taught students in Red Wing Public Schools for 32 years and have served 4 years on the RWPS Board.
I felt the same call in 2022 when I ran for school board the first time. We are in the process of making amazing changes in how we meet the needs of our students and prepare them for the future. I want to continue supporting the initiatives that started during my time on the board. Quality education for all students means quality education for ALL students!
My priorities continue to be:
Meeting the diverse needs of our students
Attracting and retaining quality staff in all areas
Making fiscally responsible decisions that prioritize reasonable class sizes and maintaining programs that make our district unique
Supporting district partnerships with local nonprofits like Honoring Dakota Project, Hispanic Outreach, and the Jones Family Foundation that benefit our students
Supporting the partnership between RWPS and Prairie Island Indian Community
Doing my homework, taking ongoing board training, and BEING PRESENT for our community
Making decisions based on our Strategic Plan and Portrait of a Graduate
Examples of my leadership:
